No. The app works completely offline. It never makes any network connections. There is no server, no API, no cloud component.
All document data is encrypted using the Secure Enclave with P-256 elliptic curve cryptography and ECIES. Access requires Face ID or Touch ID. Data is stored only on your device with no backup or sync capability.
The encryption keys are bound to your current biometric enrollment. If you re-enroll Face ID or Touch ID (e.g., add a new face), the Secure Enclave keys are invalidated and all stored documents are permanently erased.
No. The CoreNFC tag reading API required for passport chip reading is only available on iPhone.
