The app can't read my passport

Make sure your passport has an NFC chip (look for the chip icon on the cover). Hold the top of your iPhone against the center of the passport data page. Keep it still for a few seconds. Remove any thick phone case if the reading fails.

Face ID stopped working / data disappeared

If you re-enrolled Face ID or Touch ID, the Secure Enclave encryption keys were invalidated. This is by design — it ensures that only your biometrics can access the data. Unfortunately, the stored documents cannot be recovered. You'll need to re-scan your documents.

Which passports are supported?

Any biometric passport (ePassport) issued after ~2006 with an NFC chip, and European eID cards that support the PACE protocol. The app supports both BAC (Basic Access Control) for passports and PACE (Password Authenticated Connection Establishment) for eID cards.
